Well, we finally have a house in Dallas under contract.  We’ll have an army of inspectors out at the new (to us) house today (structural engineer, lead testing, home inspector, etc.) so I am going to reserve posting photos until we are through this hurdle.  But, I feel good that we’ve found a home for us and are through the negotiation phase!

The home was built in the 1920s and has been added on to and remodeled along the way.  So, while it has plenty to be done to make it our home, it is in pretty good shape and I won’t feel the need to live in a construction zone with a toddler and an infant!

In any case, now when I am posting my inspiration know that I’ve got a real place in mind!  I have my mind on nursery lighting at the moment.  I did a chandelier in Maddie’s nursery and I love it.  We’ve got it on a dimmer and leave it on very low at night as her night light.  So, I wanted to do another chandelier in “Baby H’s” nursery.  However, this is one place where my husband has an opinion.  And, let’s just say no son of his is having a chandy in his room.

Or is he?

Recall that I’ve got a bird print wallpaper planned for the ceiling.  How perfect would the above birdcage chandelier be in our space?  Here, the homeowner actually created this chandelier herself, as she wasn’t prepared to pay the $800 it would cost for her to purchase a similar version she’d spotted in a store.  I am completely impressed!

I wonder if this is the chandelier that was her inspiration?  It is available from Stray Dog Designs and the birds are available in a multitude of colors

Now to decide if I buy new or make a go at making my own…..decisions….
