Sorry for my long absence. I’ve been in the sweltering Dallas heat house-hunting. The good news is that we’ve got a short list of 5 homes we love. They are all in the same neighborhood and each has its own list of pros ranging from one with an incredible back yard for entertaining, a spectacularly remodeled home, close proximity to shopping and our favorite park, curb/street appeal and a possible great bargain (read re-do). So, hopefully with a little decision making and subsequent negotiation we’ll be on our way to knowing we won’t be homeless at the end of the year!
(As an aside, we kept driving past my little cottage and I think my realtor was tired of hearing about my love of this little house, esp. since it has a “contract pending” sign out front. And, the ugly curb appeal foreclosure is off the table. We decided it is way too large for us and not in the most desirable section of this neighborhood….despite the promise of a great deal).
But anyway, I got a chance to read the September 2010 Elle Decor on the plane and was excited to read that Diane von Furstenberg is coming out with a new line of cotton home fabrics. According to the article, there will be 87 prints. According to a call to DVF, they will likely be available around January.
In the meantime, check out some of these fabrics that von Furstenberg used to decorate the DVF Piano Suite at Claridge’s hotel in London. These images (each from the Claridge’s site) make me so excited to see this new collection!
What do you think? Is your interest peaked?

I still vote for the cottage–hands down! So much more personality and style than the cookie-cutter mansions. Having raised 2 children in a 7.00sf house, I can tell u that that much space really isn’t necessary. Good luck with finding the perfect house for you and your family!
