Hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours was spent doing odds and ends around the house, meeting with a realtor, scouring school websites and real estate listings in Dallas and making endless lists of what needs to get done in the coming months.
We did manage to make it over to my parents’ last night for homemade ribs and some relaxation. We also finally got skype and Maddie was able to skype with her Grandma, Aunt, Uncle and Cousin in Australia. She is still talking about it this morning!
However, despite the busy weekend and too much to do…..my mind has turned to summer entertaining. We’ll be here all summer most likely and love nothing more than spending our weekends out by the pool. I spotted this idea in the current issue of Southern Living over at my mom’s yesterday. I forgot to bring the magazine home but luckily found some similar images online to share.
Why not buy some plain/inexpensive barware and paint a section with chalkboard paint so that glasses will not get mixed up. An alternative to the wine charm….

So, despite the low priority making these would be in the grand scheme of things (you should have seen the look on my husband’s face when I came home from Michael’s and the nursery yesterday with the makings for moss and seed balls) I think I am going to give it a try next weekend. Maddie’s obsessed with sidewalk chalk at the moment and would probably have some fun with these….buying the adults a little extra time to chat amongst themselves!
If you do not feel like making your own, I’ve seen them available at Pier 1 and Etsy. A google search indicated they used to have them at World Market….so that may be in an option as well. I am thinking a nice mojito with crushed strawberry would look perfect in one of these numbers. Or, in my case at the moment, a nice glass of lemonade!
Hope you have a great week.

OK, you’ve convinced me to go and purchase some chalkboard paint. I do like this idea for wine glasses. I’ve tried the wine charms but after one glass, no one remembers what charm is theirs!
I’d like to hear more and moss and seed ball project. I have held off purchasing ones from retailers because they look fake.
Kudos to you for taking on technology and getting skype. That is one realm of technology I’ve yet to try.
Good luck with the sale of your home!!!!
