I have quite an accumulation of Maddie’s “Art” from preschool and our Mommy and Me type classes we do. (By the way, if you are in Northern VA with young children you should check out Wee Play…we are going to miss “Miss Kathy” and her great program when we move!) Anyways, I am saving Maddie’s creations and plan to take photos of them so I can similarly scale and have them either framed (inexpensively) or made into a poster.

I love this display of artwork in the room of Leila, daughter of Velvet & Linen blogger Brooke Giannetti. They used Pottery Barn frames to showcase Leila’s artwork. I love how the white frames help the artwork pop against the blue walls.

image via Velvet & Linen

Here is another similar inspiration, white frames and matting being used to display children’s art in the family breakfast area.

Photo by John Bessler for Better Homes & Gardens

Another idea I love is from Sixx Design. Love the idea of taking photographs of kids’ artwork and having it made into a poster. Saves on space while allowing memories to be preserved…

Sixx Design

What about you? Do you have any great ideas for displaying your children’s art to share?

I’ve long been a fan of this room by Suzanne Kasler. I am pretty sure it is her daughter’s bedroom.

So, when I saw this photo from Sixx Design I instantly knew I’d seen the fabric before….

A little more searching brought me to this image from the December 2006 issue of House Beautiful. The room was designed by Bobby McAlpine.

And, a little bit of detective work brought me to the source. This is the “Summer Square” fabric by Victoria Hagan Home Collection. It is available in 6 colorways on white ground; and in two colorways on natural ground. It is a cotton/linen blend and is manufactured here in the US. It isn’t cheap, but not outragous either. Contact us for more information.

What do you think? Do you like it?
