Thank you! Fabric Found Scalamandre's "Bali"

One of the things I love about blogging is the interaction with so many others who share the same interests. That was apparent when so many of you took the time yesterday to help out and offer suggestions when I put out a plea to help me find an elusive fabric. Well, thanks to the response of Daniela over at Aesthetic Oiseau my client and I have finally found this fabric. Daniela, thank you so much and thanks to everyone else who took the time to offer suggestions and confirmation. We so appreciate it!

Here is a close up of Scalamandre’s Bali fabric in “Multi on Bamboo.”

It is available in a total of seven colorways, each spectacular in its own right. Of course, this fabric doesn’t come cheap. It is $240 per yard….would definitely be a splurge for many of us!

Scalamandre Aviary Wallpaper - Perfect for a Little Girl!

Things always seem to come in threes…..

1) I posted about Scalamandre’s Aviary Fabric here.

2) I saw the wallpaper version (see below) in the girl’s side of a jack-n-jill bathroom in one of the Dallas homes we toured last weekend.

3) This week, a customer requested a quote on this fabric, and I subsequently learned the fabric is being discontinued and that remaining stock is limited.

I love the combination of pink and green for a little girl. And oh how I am in love with this paper! Despite the fact that the fabric is being discontinued, the wallpaper remains available in 6 colorways. And, if you need a ton of the fabric, Scalamandre will print the fabric…..but the minimum order of 100 yards…ummm….probably not happening very often!

It is often the little details that take something from good to great. Today, I was perusing the website of Liz Williams Interiors and noticed this image from a 2003 Better Homes & Gardens publication titled “Window and Wall Ideas.”

I immediately recognized this fabric (Scalamandré Aviary in Taupe), a sample of which I have in my files from a trip to the Design Center. The fabric ended up not working for the intended project and I sortof forgot about it. But, this image gave me some renewed interest. I love the band of brown fabric on the edge of these panels, and even think the small bow details could be sweet for a bedroom.

I did a similar band down my family room drapes in our old house. Unfortunately, the images are on a currently defunct computer that I must get to my IT person to rescue with a whole host of other missing data!

As I’ve mentioned before, we are on a decorating freeze as a cross country move may be in our future. But, this doesn’t stop me from planning in case we don’t end up moving. I am thinking a neutral grasscloth wallpaper for my master bedroom with the subtle blue from this fabric pulled up on to the ceilings. I’ve got three windows in the master bedroom and a triple window in our sitting room…..I am thinking this fabric would work well for simple pinch pleated panels, with interest added by way of a band of solid fabric.
