Happy Days….

Ah, the power of social media!

Remember here I sent out an S.O.S. for people looking to buy Albert Hadley for Hinson “Fireworks” Wallpaper?

Well, I am happy to report that three happy clients and I will all be getting this beauty in about 5 short weeks.  In my home, this paper is going in Maddie’s room.  One of my clients is using it in her recently remodeled bathroom….this paper will look perfect with her vintage venetian pink accents.

I honestly thought this was going to take forever to round up.  But luckily my first client and I were not the only ones looking to use this great paper!

Now I just have to figure out the rest of Maddie’s room.  I kept thinking I had time with the paper out of stock!

And an update on Harry’s room….the paper I blogged about last Friday made it to the chopping block.  I have a couple of other ideas….but may skip the paper in his room all together……or may just paper the ceiling in this.  Over the weekend my husband found and bought a print of the WWII bomber that my Grandfather was in when shot down at the end of the war.  So, this will most definitely become a special part of the room!

Harry’s Room Revisited Again…

Today I had to go to the design center for some customer projects.  Of course, while I was there, I had to browse and wouldn’t you know….I think I have figured out Harry’s room.

I have really been stalling on this room….I really get crippled in my own home because I am exposed to so much and I hate to commit.  But, Erica over at Stark called me this week and the rug for Harry’s room that was on backorder until July….well, it’s here and is being cut and bound….and will ship in just over a week.  Yikes!

This was the push I needed to proceed with the design and I finally admitted to myself that I am not loving my yellow and grey theme.  First, love the combo….but maybe not for my home or at least this room.  And 2nd, I guess by using the bird wallpaper on the ceiling I sortof felt like I was copying….and I want our room to be ours!  Which brings me to this….

Today, while waiting for some samples to be pulled I started browsing the Osborne and Little wallpaper.  This paper (shown above) just spoke to me.  It is Nina Campbell from the Paradiso collection (Folco).  It has the perfect blend of blue/grey and an almost shimmery silver/grey trellis pattern.  I love it.  (Point out to my husband that there are “flowers” on this paper and I will never speak to you again!)

I immediately called the contractor and said I am ready to do the wainscoting and assuming my husband doesn’t take issue….this is the paper.  I am going to use it on the upper 1/4 of the room above the wainscoting (board and batten).  I am going to do the ceiling a pale blue/grey paint or if I feel crazy, maybe I’ll paper it.

Romans will be out of the linen above, which has silvery sheen to it.  It’s perfect.  I just need to find some blue/grey trim for the shades and I will be on my way.  This all makes me a happy girl!

Happy Weekend!

Update–  Huband came home and immediately detected the flowers and expressed dislike.  Sigh, do you think the paper is too girly for a baby boy?  I am prepared to change it before he starts school!  Really, I am!

A little birdie…

Until I find the source on the Anthropologie paper I blogged about yesterday, here is a round-up of some other favorite papers featuring our feathered friends….

Schumacher– A-Twitter

Scalamandre– Aviary

Julia Rothman for Hygge & West

Zoffany– Gustavius, Eleonora

Nina Campbell– Perroquet

I really have a thing for birds (remember my dining room chandelier?)  I’d love to incorporate one of these papers into a future project.

And with that, I hope you have a great weekend!

New from Osborne & Little….

It is that time of year when new product introductions seem to be made almost daily.  Here is a round-up of some of the new items from Osborne & Little.

Zagazoo, by Quentin Blake

Quentin Blake is a well known illustrator and children’s author in Britain.  He has designed a line of fabric and wallpaper exclusively for Osborne & Little.

When I first started working on Maddie’s nursery, I had wanted to do a pink toile below the chair rail, with pale green painted walls above.  But, I could not find the right toile that spoke to me.  Ah, if only this fabric had been available then….

“Alphabet Tales” Fabric

“Quentin’s ABC” Wallpaper and “All Join In” Fabric
