I never tire seeing images of this paper, which I suppose is a good thing since it is going in Maddie’s bedroom and vanity area.

Which reminds me…..I’ve have helped customers buy a lot of this paper and am so bad about asking to see images of spaces completed with products I’ve helped them purchase. Please, I’d love to see where some of these products land….send me an email, pretty please?

Do you remember a long time back I fell in love with a fabric and put out an SOS to find the source?

I get a fair number of emails asking if I’ve found the fabric….and a bunch of people pinned it on pinterest. Originally, I wanted to use the fabric in Maddie’s room….but found a solid alternative and am dressing it up with some fun trim. In any case, a couple of weeks ago I actually found the source of the fabric so I thought I would share. It is Robert Allen’s “Bold Sconce” in Peacock.

In case you are interested, the fabric comes in four colorways.

Suzanne Kasler for Lee Jofa....

I have been spending A LOT of time at the design center lately. Like, way too much time….my car could probably drive itself there. Before the holidays I was in Lee Jofa the day they were putting out the new sample wings for Suzanne Kasler’s new line. I wanted to blog about it right away but I ran out of time. It does not disappoint.

I have chosen all of my window treatments for our house……no turning back….they’ve been ordered…..but if I hadn’t…..this beauty would need to find its way in. Don’t you think it would work equally well in a sophisticated nursery as it would in a cozy guest room?

I also love the colors in the “Montmartre” pattern. And it is available in a total of 5 colorways.

There are also a lot of basics in this collection, great solids, stripes and upholstery options. If you go to Lee Jofa, you can search on her collection. Almost all of them have been photographed at this point.

It is hard to go wrong with someone like Suzanne Kasler in the driver’s seat.

Yesterday, I received an email that Thibaut is running a special until the end of the year (which I am, of course, passing on to my customers). So, I decided to hop over to their site and just browse around a tad. And low and behold, look what I found….I really, really like it.

I still am in total love with the Brunschwig fabric in the top image. But it is CRAZY expensive (like retails at over $350 a yard) and I have to pick my crazy splurges carefully. While Thibaut fabrics aren’t bargains, they are generally pretty reasonable as far as “trade only” fabrics go and they have such great products (and often have coordinating wallpapers). One other thing I love about Thibaut is that they offer room views to accompany many of their fabrics and wallpapers. I don’t know about you, but it really helps me envision things better when I have something more than a small swatch to view.

Anyhow, I think I am going to pop over to the design center to pick up a sample later this week. We shall see.

I have been searching high and low for the perfect yellow pom-pom trim to use on Maddie’s drapes. I thought this would be an easy task…..but it hasn’t been. I asked a friend to recommend some local places and she told me to go look at the Samuel and Sons trim at a local trade only showroom. Wow, am I glad I took her advice. I not only found what I was looking for for Maddie’s room….

But I also brought home a sample of the tape below….which I fell in love with. The image doesn’t even do it justice….it is a hand embroidered linen/jute tape.

Samuel and Sons has a great website where you can view their products, see recent advertisements and designer installations. Here are a few of my favorites.

I love everything about this room.

The fabric on the dust ruffle is China Sea’s Carnival Stripe. I recently ordered a sample of this fabric in the Dark Turquoise/Dark Pink for a client. If I were working on a nursery for a little girl….rest assured this fabric would find its way in.

So simple, yet the colors really elevate it.

I love it.

Blue and White Goodness

Well, sorry for the silence but things have been VERY busy around here. We moved to an apartment last week and our renovation officially started today. In fact, I had to run by the house today and demo had already started. Yikes. I was going to snap photos but my camera battery was dead….plus I was trying to follow around/placate my 3 year old (love them school holidays!) and my nearly 1 year old….it was a challenge. Luckily my builder had a professional photographer in today to take “before” shots so I am going to try to get a hold of some of those.

Also, my office is so completely jammed with furniture, etc. that I can barely open the door so my working arrangements for the next 4-5 months will be interesting. Apartment life is already seeming small….but maybe I’ll lose that 20+ lbs I want to lose given we are in a third floor apt and I’ve got Harry to carry up and down, the geriatric beagle to walk, etc. Adventures I tell you!

In any case, you may recall I am thinking of a blue and white color scheme for the guest room. How is this for inspiration?

One of the things I love about blogging is the interaction with so many others who share the same interests. That was apparent when so many of you took the time yesterday to help out and offer suggestions when I put out a plea to help me find an elusive fabric. Well, thanks to the response of Daniela over at Aesthetic Oiseau my client and I have finally found this fabric. Daniela, thank you so much and thanks to everyone else who took the time to offer suggestions and confirmation. We so appreciate it!

Here is a close up of Scalamandre’s Bali fabric in “Multi on Bamboo.”

Fabric Look for Less....

I was in the Fabricut showroom last week and ran across this fabric. Funny enough, I had a swatch of it from a retail chain sitting in my purse from a while back. I am thinking it is going to be used in our guest room. It is available in navy (azure) and aqua.

When I first saw this fabric it reminded me of this Manuel Canovas fabric (Pali), that is far more expensive. I know the scale is different but at first glance…there was just something that reminded me of this.

Here is the Manuel Canovas Pali fabric used in a Dallas home. Love the fabric mixed with Quadrille and Matouk linens.

Irrespective of any resemblance, I really like the Fabricut version. Especially at the price point. What do you think?
