I have a BS in business administration and accounting and am a CPA who worked in Fund Management for a Washington, DC based private equity firm for approx 10 years.

After my daughter, Maddie, was born I decided to focus my attention on family and home. At the same time, I enrolled in an Interior Design program, something I’d long wanted to do but never had the time. Given the entrepreneurial spirit that rubbed off from my days working in private equity and venture capital, it only seemed natural that I turn my passion for home decoration into a new career. Hence, Maddie G Designs was born.

My main focus is to help the so called do-it-yourself interior designer gain access to “To the Trade” designer resources at lower mark-ups than can generally be gained through hiring a full service designer, who likely does not have the time or inclination to make small purchases for non-clients.   My target market is the person who has found a fabric, piece of furniture, etc. in a design magazine and really just needs help obtaining the product at an affordable price.
