Found You....

Remember a while back that I pinned this image???

Southern Living, Photography by Melanie Acevedo

I love this coffee table and think it would look great in our family room.  I emailed the architect listed in the Southern Living article and she responded that she had emailed the homeowner for more details.  I never heard back.  I also got a quote from my local furniture craftsman for a custom one.

But, while researching for a client today….

Look what I found…..

I think that’s her….don’t you think?

From Hickory Chair.

I was quite happy to find her.

PS–I have to admit I have not been feeling a major pull to blog lately.  I am so busy.  My husband (and a good friend this afternoon) flipped when I added room-mom to my growing list of commitments.  But, I have to admit…..with everything going on…..my happiest way to spend extra moments is with my beautiful kids.  And when I blog, I do hate to slap up a post to just check the box.  So, if you don’t hear from me for a few days, know I am still here….and will be back.  But just may take a few weeks to recharge and get everything else under control so that the blog is “fun” again and not just another “to-do” on the list!  I’ll be popping in and out….but will likely be a bit sporadic for a bit.  Hope you understand.

What's been going on here?

Just a little of this and that today…..

Found the above carpet last week (for master bedroom) when I was out looking for carpets for the living room.  I was initially worried the pattern would compete with our wallpaper….but after a week of living with it….I think it is a go.  The colors couldn’t be more perfect and I love a good geometric pattern.  As for the living room……this is being ordered for ours…..

And while we are on the topic of carpet, for those who have been looking for an “after” of our stairs…..the carpet is still on backorder…..due in later this month.

Speaking of backorders, this sofa table is on order for our family room.  Seems nothing is in stock these days!

It is hard to get the full feel from this image…….but it has an industrial vibe with a marble top.  Joni from Cote de Texas used it in this home….

I mentioned that we re-arranged furniture in our family room recently when we got rid of our sectional.  The daybed/sofa was in our old sunroom and my husband was strongly against two chairs where it currently resides (my initial plan).  He was pretty determined that this piece would find a way to work itself into our family room.

I’ve grown to like it here.  It plays well with the wood on my chair and ottoman.  And the kids and I have good snuggles there in the morning.  I am thinking of having the cushions re-done in a green stripe.  It works perfectly with the Misa on the chair and ottoman.  (The pattern actually looks more muted/subdued in person).

The coffee table is being re-located once I can find something to fit the space. Honestly, I want a square table….and wish Aidan Gray had a sqaure version of this….  (Anyone seen something similar out there?)

The pillows on this sofa need to be re-done (the fabric is from our old place), etc. etc. Baby steps….it’s why I haven’t been sharing images of my house lately….nothing is looking finished or blog worthy!

Finally, a peek of the headboard in the guest room.  The bedding isn’t staying either.  I picked it up at Tuesday Morning last time we had visitors and I needed a duvet cover.

Is your head spinning from the randomness of this post?  And now when you wonder why you aren’t getting house updates daily like you did when I was remodeling you will see why. These things (at least around here) take time!

Dribs and drabs here and there…..

One day it will all come together, right?

Peeking in....

It has been a long week….sorry I’ve been absent.

I started the week with a 3 day vegetable juice detox.

It wasn’t pretty.  I lost 7 lbs but I also had a migraine like no other.  Which resulted in a day of this….

Except extract the husband who was at work and put the kids in motion screaming and bouncing all over me….and add in two preschool drop offs and pick ups and an evening charity board meeting—what in the world was I thinking?  Never again…. NEVER!

I did make it to the design center and managed to settle on a rug and fabric for our living room.  Presenting to my “client” this weekend.  Fingers crossed he likes.  I am sick of staring at an unfinished room.  And I’ve had the vision of what I really want in my head for months…..time to get cracking!

I also have spent the last several weeks weeding through 30,000 + rows of data in multiple spreadsheets from a major fabric company who will be featured in my shop.  Someone commented that it sounded miserable…..but you have to remember my background is finance….I am a CPA and I worked in Fund Management for a global private equity firm before I had Maddie.  My husband called me a nerd because I was actually enjoying my long lost friend Excel.  Although, that giddiness is almost over…..I just want the site DONE!

In any case, my eyes are so tired of the computer that I just haven’t had the time to blog.  Even my clients are probably noticing a slower than usual response.  Sorry!

Maddie has also had a few afterschool playdates this week….and Harry had a mommy and me class in addition to school.  So, it’s been a busy week.  But, what week isn’t during the school year, right?

Oh, and it is supposed to be 104 degrees here today.  So, between the excessive heat and the major mosquito problem here in Dallas (that seems to be proportionately bad in our neighborhood) we have been couped up.  We went to the arboretum last weekend which was a huge mistake….way too hot.  But tomorrow, the weather is supposed to be delightful as we are due for a “cold front.”  Here’s to a weekend of fun outside!

What is on tap in your world?

Pinned Because

I need to do another foyer post because ours is at the top of my mind.  I saw this one on pinterest recently and while it may not all be my style, I like it.  The art, the sconces (I love symmetry) and the ottoman under the table is the perfect spot to stop and put on shoes, etc.
